The Pink Pound…
Friday, November 13th, 2009The power of happy cash.

The power of happy cash.

Save (the planet) as you spend.

A batch of 20p coins accidentally issued with no date on them could be worth £50 each, say coin collectors. These rare samples are said to be the first undated British coins to enter circulation for more than 300 years. Even more rare are these deliberately bashed British coins yet to be found in circulation….

Another bashing: banksy coin; celebrating the art of changing the value of things depending whose name it has on it - irrespective as to whether it is made by that person or not.

Every time I put my hand in my pocket I am reminded that each little piece of credit is now worth less. Who do I blame? I don’t know, but the subject is on the bloody news everyday and it’s all rather depressing. This first-in-the-series of bashed coin images is a reminder of the weird period we find ourselves living in, and provides a visual opportunity to get involved in the beauty of the detail, whilst letting any financial worries drift away. Or to remind you to stay bloody angry and try to do something about it. This image was created using good old fashioned bashing, and not with any photo-editing software. See more at www.BA5H.com
